Christopher (Chris) Steven Rohlig, born on October 27, 1984, passed away on August 31, 2024 at the age of 39. Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Cara, with whom he shared almost 9 wonderful years of marriage and 16 total years. Together, they nurtured a loving home for their three cherished children, Caroline (5), Harrison (3), and Alexander (11 months), who brought immense joy and pride to his life, as well as his adored dog Tucker (12).
Chris also leaves behind his parents, Kathleen (James) Eliassen and Lloyd Rohlig, along with his siblings, Shaun (Lisa) and Scott (Amanda) Rohlig, with whom he shared a special bond, strengthened by years of shared experiences and family gatherings.
In addition, Chris is survived by his nieces and nephews Madeline, Henry, and Emeline Rohlig, Morgan and Summer Pawlowski, and Noel Krul, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Chris is also mourned by his mother and father-in-law, Douglas and Teresa Pawlowski, and his brother and sisters-in-law, Cameron (Lauren) Pawlowski, Sarah (Aaron) Krul, and Lindsay (fiancé Aaron Skierski) Pawlowski.
Chris was an engineer at Roush Industries for the last 10 years and a proud graduate of the University of Michigan. Chris took great pride in his work at Roush where he specialized in alternative fuel systems that will help make the planet more sustainable for generations to come. He thoroughly enjoyed working alongside his colleagues, mentoring junior team members, and solving complex engineering challenges.
Chris had many passions outside of work, including golf, baseball, skiing, watersports and powersports. He spent many summer evenings with his best friend Tim playing softball, and many rounds golfing with his brothers and friends. Above all else, Chris was an amazing father to his three beautiful children. He always prioritized their happiness, whether it was playing with them in the yard or just taking them to the hardware store to help with projects. Chris put together every toy, fixed the toys when they’d inevitably break, and set up bounce houses and water slides anytime his kids wanted. He was patient with his children and would always slow down to explain things to them. He was a model father and husband. Chris also took pride in his house and worked hard inside and out to provide a wonderful home for his family. He will be remembered for the hardworking man he was and for the love and adoration he had for his three children and wife.
Chris’s family is hosting a memorial gathering at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home 280 South Main St, Plymouth, MI on Saturday, September 14th from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. All who knew and loved Chris are invited to come by and pay their respects.
