Carolyn Marie Remer passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 31, 2026, at her home in Plymouth, MI. She was born on December 9, 1936, in the quaint town of Uniontown, PA.
Carolyn was the beloved mother of five children: Cathy, Tom, Bobby, Susan, and Patty. She is survived by three of her children—Patty (Joe) Kelly, Cathy (Joe) Brockman, and Tom (Peggy) McGraw—as well as her eight grandchildren and seven great-grand children. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Remer, and her children Robert McGraw and Susan Watson.
In her early years, Carolyn dedicated herself to raising her children as a stay-at-home mom. As her children grew older, she ventured into the workforce, eventually opening her own successful air freight company. She took great pride in her business and enjoyed the rewards of her hard work, treating herself to many fine things in life.
A lover of books, Carolyn had an extensive library and enjoyed reading for hours. She was also an avid fan of Neil Diamond. Whenever he came to town, she could always be found in the front row of his concerts. As she grew older and could no longer attend his performances, she arranged for a Neil Diamond impersonator to periodically visit her assisted living facility. The shows were a huge hit, and Carolyn became known as "Sweet Caroline" to everyone in the community, a nickname that brought smiles to all who knew her.
Carolyn will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
