Carolyn J. Schlegel

Carolyn Joan Schlegel of Canton, died January 19, 2018 at the age of 76. She was born to Lyle and Helen Brosche on November 27, 1941. Carolyn is survived by her beloved husband Jerry, her three loving children Jerry (Tammy) Schlegel Jr., Stephen (Carilu) Schlegel, and Kathleen (Scott) Blackmore, her 8 precious grandchildren Amanda, Dylan, Jessica, Robyn, Alexander, Andrew, Jacob, and Ella, her dear sister Beverly (the late Fred) Hughes, and many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Carolyn was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Carolyn went to Sacred Heart Catholic School in Dearborn. She went on to marry her neighbor and beloved husband Jerry in 1963. They welcomed three loving children shortly there after and began raising a family.

Carolyn was a very gifted and creative woman who enjoyed floral design, painting, ceramics, needlepoint, cross-stitch and quilting. She was also employed as a high style floral designer who did weddings and displays for Art Van.

She was a generous and giving woman, who especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.


Visitation will be Monday, January 22, from 3-6:30pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, 48170. Her Funeral Service will begin at 6:30pm at the funeral home. A private burial will take place on Wednesday, January 24 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
