Carol Lou Gerber, age 86 of Westland passed away with her daughter by her side on November 27, 2025.
She was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 29, 1939 to the late Lucy (née Yergenson) and Julius Miodowski.
Carol is the loving mother of two children, Kimberlee R. (John) Gouin and the late Robert S. Gerber; proud grandmother of Leah J. Gouin, Alex Gerber and great-grandmother of Rylee Gerber.
Carol attended Michigan State University where she obtained a B.A. in Education and she received her M.A. from Eastern Michigan University in Reading Instruction. Carol spent her entire professional career as an elementary school teacher; her early years in the Crestwood School District (Dearborn Heights, MI) and then from 1976 - 2002, Carol taught in South Lyon Community Schools until she retired.
Family and friends may gather at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. with a luncheon to follow at Newburgh United Methodist Church, 36500 Ann Arbor Trail, Livonia, Michigan. Those who wish to honor the memory of Carol are invited to consider a contribution to Children of the Night, Inc., 3450 Cahuenga Blvd W, Unit 602, Los Angeles, CA 90068 or online at: Children of the Night
