Beverly Jane Waters

Beverly Jane Waters, age 66 of Westland passed away on July 24, 2026.

She was born on August 4, 1959 in Ishpeming, Michigan to the late James and Margaret Cox. Her parents were the late Lorraine (née Cox) and Woodrow (the late Mary Margaret) Reichel.

Beverly is the loving and devoted mother of her two sons, William W. (Melissa) Waters and Steven T. (Alysha) Waters, and proud grandmother of Kristine and Carter. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her brothers and sisters, Marcia (Ricky) Mattfield, Douglas Cox, Richard Cox, David Cox, William Cox, Debbie Rogney and Michael Cox. Step brothers William De Broux, Steven De Broux, Richard De Broux, and Brian De Broux. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 5 siblings Donald Cox, Margaret Cox, James Cox, Christine Cox, and Carol Cox.

Beverly graduated in 1977 from Negaunee High School. She left Michigan and moved to Abilene, Texas in 1982 and then returned to Michigan to Ann Arbor in 1989. She had been living in Westland, Michigan at the time of her death.

Above all things in life, Beverly treasured every moment spent with her beloved grandchildren, who brought endless happiness to her life. Whenever she had the opportunity, she escaped to her cherished home in the Upper Peninsula, a place that brought her peace and contentment. Her home and heart were always open – especially to her sons’ friends, Tahir, Brian, Joey, Lance and Weston, who became like family to her. They affectionately called her “Mom”, a title she wore with pride. She never missed an opportunity to remind those she loved just how much they meant to her, leaving each of them with the lasting gift of knowing they were deeply loved.

Beverly found great joy in her work at Planet Fitness and Wendy's, where she made lasting connections with coworkers and members alike and remained a dedicated member of the team until her passing.

Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan on Friday, July 31, 2026 from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 P.M.
