Amanda Mae Hohmeier

Amanda Mae Hohmeier, age 43 of Dearborn, Michigan passed away on November 8, 2025.

She was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 2, 1982. Amanda is the loving and devoted wife of Wesley Kerstens. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her parents, David Hohmeier and Marcia (Larry) Burton; her siblings, Matthew (Yi Leng) Hohmeier and Michelle (Clinton) Hoffmann as well as her niece and nephews, Sam Hohmeier, Ray Hohmeier and Kayia Hoffmann.

Amanda is remembered for being fearless, wickedly funny, a multi-hyphenate talent, and endlessly generous. For example:

  • As a young child, she would chat with anyone in the grocery store, memorably calling out “Hey you, lady in the hat…”
  • As a songwriter, bass player and vocalist for multiple punk bands, Amanda thrilled fans with her exhilaratingly unique music.
  • As a wedding deejay, she brought joy to family celebrations and convinced a bride that “Papa was a rolling stone” was not an ideal song for walking down the aisle.
  • As the operational muscle at Chicago Stucco, Amanda modernized operations at a multi-generational family business

Amanda’s joy, kindness and humanity remains an inspiration to all who were privileged to have her bright light shine on us during her all too short life.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
