Albert Emerson Coates, age 86 of Plymouth, passed away on October 12, 2022.
Emerson was born in Detroit on March 2, 1936, to the late William and Jessie (née Anderson) Coates. He was the loving and devoted husband of Diane (née Dietle) Coates; loving father of Jeffrey (Patricia) Coates, Lori (Gary) Panicacci, and Kimberly (Paul) Eiswerth; loving brother to Maxine Tudor, and proud “Papa” of nine grandchildren; Brendan, Sean, Devon, Eric, Kevin, Michael, Alesa, Dante, Ariel; and three great-grandchildren. Emerson leaves behind many family and friends who will miss him and who will miss hearing his wonderful stories.
Emerson was a Teacher for more than 30 years and the Yearbook Advisor at Harrison High School in Farmington Hills, Michigan. He loved R.V.ing and was an avid sailor.
A Memorial Gathering will be held for family and friends at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. There will be a Memorial Service beginning at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Risen Christ Lutheran Church, 46250 Ann Arbor Road, Plymouth.
