Steve Farkas

Steve Farkas, aged 67 of Canton, passed away on April 17, 2019. Loving husband of 42 years to Marie. Beloved father of Shannon (Tim) Pypa, Ryan Farkas, and Daniel (Nicole) Farkas. Proud grandfather of Bradley Pypa, Meghan Pypa, and Bronson Farkas. Dear brother of Christopher (Becky) Farkas and Lisa (Rick) Hunt.

Steve proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Every fall was football season, and every Saturday you would find Steve cheering on his favorite team, the University of Michigan Wolverines. He enjoyed working with his hands – he was always ready to help his children with home improvement projects. Steve also admired mechanical devices of all types and was an avid reader. One of Steve’s favorite topics was politics - from reading daily updates on world events to having spirited conversations with friends and family about his views on national and international events. Steve was a long-time cancer survivor and his fighting spirit helped others who are battling this terrible disease. Steve was able to help organize numerous fundraisers for the American Cancer Society, a charity that was close to his heart, and he volunteered his time to speak with patients undergoing treatment at the University of Michigan Hospital. Steve will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral home 280 South Main St, Plymouth on Friday, April 19th from 4:00pm-9:00pm. A funeral service to follow on Saturday, April 20th at 4:00pm at the funeral home.
