Sandra J. Hobbs

April 13, 1936 — January 4, 2018

Sandra Joanne Hobbs of Pleasant Ridge, died January 4, 2018 at the age of 81. She was born in Detroit, to Francis and Margaret (nee Siersma) Light. Sandy is survived by her loving children Terri Maurer, Lori (David) Jouppi, and Julie (Donald) Hobbs-Julian, her precious grandchildren Eugene Jouppi, Kaitlin (Dale) Schmoekel, Chelsea Julian, Christopher Julian, Alexander Julian, and Zachary Maurer, her cherished great grandchildren Natalie and Ben, and her dear sister Diane (Barry). Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years John “Jack” Hobbs, both of her parents, and her siblings Susan Guy and Wes Light.

Sandy loved to sing and spent many years singing for the 1st Congregational Church of Detroit and the Cantata Academy. She was a dedicated Detroit Tigers fan. More than anything, Sandy was a dedicated grandmother to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 6, from 3-8pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, 48170. Her Funeral Service will be Sunday, January 7, at 1pm at the 1st Congregational Church of Royal Oak, 1314 Northwood Blvd., Royal Oak, 48073. Family and friends may begin visiting the church at 12:30pm. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
