Richard Lawrence Williams

Passed away at Four Seasons Nursing Home in Westland on May 31, 2014 at the age of 65. Richard was born in Detroit, the son of Robert and Virginia S. ( nee Tulymoski ) Williams. He graduated from the University of Detroit High School and then entered the United States Navy for whom he served nine years During his time of enlistment he served at various bases throughout the United States and also in the Canal Zone. He was an electrician mate in the service and he continued as an electrician after his enlistment. Richard enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting and fishing and also he enjoyed many hours working on his stamp collection. Richard is survived by his wife Gayle and his three sons, Peter ( Juli ), Jeffrey ( Nivia ) and Richard ( Martha ). Also surviving are his six grandchildren, Sean, Hayley, Blake, Clayton, Allison & Nicholas, great grandson Luke and sister Susan Laurent. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 pm until 8 pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth. A funeral service will be held at 7 pm. At 2:30 pm on Wednesday he will receive military honors and burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
