Maureen Alice Vitoratos

Maureen Alice (O'Mara) Vitoratos, age 69 of Canton, passed away February 6, 2014. Mother of Erik (Cathie) Vitoratos and Kimberly (Roger) Hill. Grandmother of Ian, Nicholas, Kaedence, Lucas and Nathan. Preceded in death by her brother, Patrick O’Mara. Survived by her brother, John O’Mara. She was born to parents Robert O’Mara and Dorothy Gauthier, and grew up in Dearborn, Michigan. She lived in Canton, Michigan, for over 40 years. She was a devoted bus driver for Plymouth Canton schools for over 25 years. She retired due to illness in 2002. Maureen always believed the best in the people she met; family, friends, associates, or just the lady in the grocery line. She had a great sense of humor, loved music, and was passionate that everyone should “enjoy” this life. A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Thomas A’Becket Catholic Church, 555 S. Lilley Rd., Canton, Michigan, Wednesday February 12, 10:30am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 10am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Maureen to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, or another breast cancer association.
