Maria Rosalinda Madonna, age 98 of Plymouth, passed away on March 9, 2021.
She was born on July 30, 1922 in Taranta Peligna, Italy to her parents, Domenico and Carmela (née Merlino) Gatti. Maria is the beloved and devoted wife of the late Nicola Madonna. They were married 58 years. She is the loving mother of two children – Henry (Peggy) Madonna and Marcello (Debra) Madonna; proud Grandmother of Nicolas Madonna, Andrew (Justine) Madonna, John (Rebecca) Madonna, Sarah (Daniel) Spinelli and Mark Madonna; Great-Grandmother of Teddy. She is pre-deceased by her brother, Rocco Gatti.
Maria was a lifelong devout Catholic whose life was steeped in an unending faith in God that brought guidance and direction to her everyday life. She daily praised and thanked God for the blessing of a wonderful life, wonderful friends and a big, happy, healthy family.
Maria was devoted to her family and provided her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild unconditional love. She always placed their needs above her own and made countless sacrifices for them. She will always be remembered as the caring and giving matriarch of her family. She was an accomplished seamstress, a master chef and her loss will be felt for all eternity by those who loved her.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 beginning at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 North Territorial Road, Plymouth. Maria will be in-state at 10:00 to 10:30 A.M. She will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Those who wish to honor the memory of Maria Rosalinda Madonna are invited to consider making a Mass Offering.
