Leenamari Bowers

Leenamari Bowers, 79, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on the 7th of Sept, 2021.

She is survived by her husband Maynard Bowers, and her children Piiamari Bowers and Eerik Bowers.

Leenamari left Finland and came to Northern Michigan University where she fell in love, married, and began her family.

Marquette Michigan became her new home. She spent the majority of her life in Marquette. It was there where she developed life-long friends from university times, through her church, and her career in teaching. Her joy was raising her family, traveling back to her homeland, and enjoying the beauty of God's nature the Upper Peninsula had to offer.

In her many travels back to Finland, she was able to keep connections with her family, and create numerous new friends. With her husband, Maynard, she traveled to see numerous places through their involvement with the University and later with Rotary International.

We, her family, are grateful for the legacy she has left us. A legacy of love in Jesus Christ and how to share that love with others. She was a woman of charm, with a heart filled with joy.

In lieu of having a service, it would bring us joy if you would share your memories and moments of laughter of Leenamari.
