Joyce G. Pierce

Passed away at Providence Park Hospital in Novi on October 16, 2013 at the age of 88. Joyce was born in Detroit on February 26, 1926 the daughter of William and Carrie M. ( Thon ) Phelps. She attended Detroit Public Schools and graduated from Cooley High School where she meet her future husband, Richard L. Pierce. After Richard's tour of duty with the armed services during World War II they wed on October 19, 1946. Joyce was an excellent seamtress and enjoyed playing Bridge but most importantly she was a " great Mom," and an " amazing wife. " She is survived by her husband and their children, Dianne Joan ( John ) Cumming, Gary Vern ( Bonnie ) Pierce and Jill ( Ervin ) Grinberg. She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Gregory. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Shane, Jenni, Paul, Jeff, Scott, Emily, Ryan, Max and Eli and 12 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service is being planned at the First Presbyterin Church of Plymouth.
