John Paul Baligian

May 11, 1947 — April 14, 2021

John Paul Baligian, age 73 of Plymouth, passed away on April 14, 2021.

He was born on May 11, 1947 in Highland Park, Michigan to his parents, Armand and Hazel (née Pabst) Baligian. He is the devoted and beloved husband of Patricia (née Curd) Baligian. They were married on February 7, 1969 at Grace Lutheran Church in Redford, Michigan. John is also the loving father of three sons – Sean (Krysten), Dan and Andrew (Kimberly); and proud grandfather of Jack, Lauren, Brandon, Kevin, Katherine, Liam, Owen, Emma, Ezra and Samuel. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his sisters, Michelle (Bill) Tedesco, Maureen (Don) Trahan, Melanie (Jeff) Radjewski and Jeanie (Rick) Raimondo.

There was something unique and special about John, and this was so evident in his desire to serve the Lord in making many international ministry trips. Wherever you are on this earth, there are many opportunities to share the good news of the Lord, and John did just that. He was deeply involved with missionary activities around the world. He gladly, enthusiastically and joyfully shared the gospel serving as a missionary for the Church, and was a wonderful example to others.

John’s most favorite trips overseas were those to Israel. He loved the experience of food, music, art, and the Israeli culture that is so special there. He enjoyed learning on his trips to Israel of the significant historical events that have shaped the Jewish culture.

His family says that above all things in life, “John was the best grandpa.” He had 10 grandchildren who loved him deeply. Nothing sounded sweeter to him than hearing one of them call him “Grandpa”. They were a great audience to all of his stories and a celebrity when he walked into a room as they made him feel like a superstar.

A Private Funeral Service will be held on May 11, 2021.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gleaners Community Food Bank, 2131 Beaufait Street, Detroit, Michigan 48207 and/or Serve the City Detroit, a nonprofit started by one of John’s sons: https://www.tinyurl.com/stcdetroit
