JoAnn Kitty Thorman

Passed away on April 15, 2014 at the age of 73. JoAnn was born in South Lyon, Michigan on July 31, 1940 the daughter of Charles and Vivian ( nee Burgess ) Kaercher. Her early years were spent in Michigan and then she attended Martin Luther College in Minnesota where she obtained her teaching degree. She taught in the Saginaw and thumb area of Michigan and also in Wisconsin. It was while teaching in Wisconsin that she met her husband to be Marvin Thorman. They were married in 1969 and then moved back to the Plymouth area in 1971. Here in Michigan she worked for Pease Paint and then for Manns Lumber where she retired from last year. In 1996 Marvin passed away and she is survived by her brother Gerald C. Kaercher and her niece and nephews, Steven, Craig, Wendy, Robert, Raymond, Randy and Dr. Kip Kaercher. Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Friday from 3 pm until 9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 am at the funeral home with the Reverend Paul Schaefer of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plymouth officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Lapham Cemetery in Salem Township.
