Hnora C. Christner

Hnora Cecelia Christner, of Livonia, passed away June 11th, 2019. Hnora, or as some referred to as AA Momma, was born on July 26th, 1948 in Casper, Wyoming to the late John and Maudaleene “Jackie” Larkin. She was preceded in death by her brother John Larkin, and sister Mary Larkin.

If you ever knew Hnora, you know how much she loved her family. She is survived by her Children, John Christner, Eric (Amy) Christner, Sarah Christner, Patrick Christner, Ellen (Joseph) Bazman, and Carey (Tim) Beckett. Proud Granny of John Christner, Robert Jones, Leah Bazman, Zachary and Andrew Beckett, Connor Bradley, Raechel Christner, Anna Marie Hall. She was also a proud Great Granny to Natalie Christner. Hnora cherished the bond she had with her sister Martha (Ed) Diakow and was a loving Aunt to Jeanne (Nick) Deren, Guy (Kristie) Diakow, Allison (Jay) Churchfield, Carly Diakow. Hnora had a deep love for her great nieces and nephew too.

Hnora never met a person that she didn’t consider a friend. Everywhere she went, Hnora found someone to talk to. Hnora was active in the recovery community. Hnora has mentored many friends in the community over the years. Many of these friends we still call family to this day.

Hnora can now rest easy in the arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ. She was a dedicated follower of his word. If it’s a Sunday at 5pm, she will find a mass to attend. If she couldn’t make it, she’d make sure to send her daughters in her place. Hnora dedicated her time to children as well with her time as a Catechism teacher.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 18, from 2-8pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, Michigan 48170. A Rosary Service will begin at 7 pm. The Mass of the Resurrection will be Wednesday, June 19, at 1:30 P.M. at St. Mary, Cause of Our Joy, 8200 N. Wayne Rd. Westland, 48185. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
