Gary Lee Whetstine

June 28, 1948 — September 13, 2020

Gary Lee Whetstine, age 72 of Plymouth, passed away on September 13, 2020. Gary was born on June 28th, 1948 to his parents Marvin L. Whetstine and Connie C. Moore (nee Goodson) in Harrisonville, Missouri.

Gary was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served honorably during the Vietnam War. He worked for General Motors for many years and had a remarkable enthusiasm for Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

Gary is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Geri Whetstine (nee Ciesielski), his children Ronda Rosa & Scott Whetstine, grandson Brandon (Ashton) Hicks and great granddaughter Bryn Hicks. He is also survived by his loving mother Connie Moore. Gary will be deeply missed by his sisters Connie Engle & Diane Tarczynski, sister-in-law Carol (Rod) Hubbard, brother-in-law Arthur Ciesielski as well. And of course, his dear fur baby Willie 2. Gary was preceded in death by his sister Jan Rucker.

Those who wish to pay their respects to Gary and his family may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Friday, September 18th, 2020 from
1:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be Saturday September 19th, 2020 at 11 AM here at the funeral home.

The Funeral Service will be private for immediate family and by invitation only from the immediate family. Per the order of the Governor of Michigan, the Funeral Service must be kept to a maximum of ten (10) people in attendance. Please refrain from handshaking and embracing family members and one another.

Gary will be laid to rest at Parkview Cemetery in Livonia following the funeral service.

Please be advised that in observance of the Governmental Order from the State of Michigan and the current COVID-19 situation, when in attendance at the visitation and funeral service, we kindly ask for the safety and well-being of the families we serve and for your health, that everyone practice social distancing and consideration for other guests in attendance.

All those who attend the visitation or funeral service are also required by order of the Governor of Michigan to wear a face mask.
