Gary Lee Pride

Passed away at his home on Friday, February 21, 2014 at the age of 71. Gary was born in Detroit but at an early age his family moved to Plymouth where he attended school, graduating from Plymouth High School. He also attended Vocational Technical school taking classes in the culinary arts. From 1960 until 1964 he served his country in the United States Navy. After his tour of duty was finished with the Navy, Gary found employment with Ford Motor in their Wayne Truck Assembly plant where he was a final inspector. He retired from Ford in 2000. On October 15, 1965 he married his high school sweetheart Nancy L. ( nee Mettetal ). Gary enjoyed cooking and camping with the family and after his retirement he served as a custodian at his church, Kirk of Our Savior in Westland. Besides his wife Nancy, Gary is survived by his sons, Nathan ( Joy Burnett ) Pride and Matthew ( Linda ) Pride. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Michael, Matthew, Joseph and Kristin and sister Joye Wooley. Memorial gathering, Saturday, May 3rd from 10 am until time of the memorial service at 11 am at Kirk of Our Saviour, 36660 Cherry Hill Road, Westland
