Florence Marie Constable

April 15, 1927 — March 2, 2022

Florence Marie Constable - age 94 Florence was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on April 15,1927 and passed peacefully on March 2, 2022 in Southfield, Michigan in the loving care of her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Arthur Constable of Plymouth, Michigan. Florence and Dennis had been happily married for 54 years at the time of his passing in 2002. They met at a pavilion dance in Leamington, Ontario while on vacation with their families after Dennis served in WWII and were inseparable until Dennis’ death.

Florence is survived by her son Steven (Pattie) Constable, her daughter Cheryl Rivard, her granddaughter Laura (Christopher) Corradi, her grandson Jonathan (Melissa) Rivard, her great grandsons Dominic and Gabriel Corradi, her sister Sheila (Jack) Harris of London, Ontario, Canada, her nephew's James (Jan) Griffith, John Griffith, niece Jennifer Griffith and great nieces Ivy and Ruby, great nephew Ryan.

Florence was truly grateful for the love and companionship of her many friends and neighbors. Florence made friends wherever she went. She was an active member of the Three Cities Art Club for many years. She shared her art with the community in many sponsored Art Show Exhibits over the years, having once won the coveted Grumbacher Award for her watercolor painting. Florence moved from Plymouth to Waltonwood Cherry Hill Canton in 2014, where she participated in many activities, played bridge and learned to play mahjong. She continued her longtime volunteering in the community for FISH of Plymouth.

Her artistic talents were evident many years ago when she taught ceramics classes from the basement of her home. Later her crafting led her to floral arranging, craft fairs and the start of FloDen Flowers. Watercolor painting was her true artistic passion and remarkably, she continued to paint through the past month. She will always be remembered for her gentle ways, her kind and encouraging words and her enormously loving heart. Her family and friends know she truly was special.

How lucky we are to have had someone so precious that it makes saying goodbye so hard. (adapted from A. A. Milne) Accept what is. Let go of what was. Have faith in what will be. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Humane Society, Lung Association or March of Dimes.
