Ervin V. Natkowski, of Plymouth, passed away May 28, 2016, at the age of 89. He was born in Detroit on June 8, 1926, to Walter and Helen Natkowski. Ervin was the beloved husband of Florence for 65 years. He is survived by his wife and their three loving children: Gregg (Sue) Natkowski, Susan (Jerry) Larabell, and Brian Natkowski, his three dear grandchildren: Alek, Ethan, and Katie, and his precious great granddaughter Ava. Ervin was preceded in death by both his parents Walter and Helen.Ervin was known for his great sense of humor. He said the earlier you die the better you will look, leading his family to know he would've lived to ninety but he wanted to look good. He always had little jokes like that to make those around him smile. Ervin was very active in his community. He was the Channel 8 Anchorman for the Senior Cable Channel, a very active member of the chair exercises at the Plymouth Cultural Center, a band leader for the Skyliner Orchestra, and the Detroit Police Choir Boys. A veteran of our United States Army, Ervin had a great respect for our military, fellow veterans, police officers, and other members of service. Ervin served as the Assistant Commander for the Polish Legion of American Veterans. He also was an avid mall-walker. Even having a walker didn't stop Ervin from making trips to the Westland Mall to walk with friends. Ervin was greatly loved and he will be deeply missed. Visitation for Ervin will be Wednesday, June 1, from 2-6pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main Street, Plymouth, 48170. His Funeral Service will begin immediately following the visitation at 6pm at the funeral home. He will be entombed on Thursday at Cadillac West Memorial Gardens.
