Effie Elizabeth Day, age 86 of Dearborn Heights passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020.
Effie was born in Hickman County, Tennessee on May 14, 1933 to her parents, Esom Nunnley Elkins and Pruedee Sidney Mai (nee Culberson) Elkins. She is the loving and devoted mother of five children – Debra Day, Deanne (Jim) Smothers, and Dylan (Jody) Day. She is preceded in death by her two sons, the late Charles Day, Jr. and Stephen Day, Sr; proud grandmother of Charles Joseph Day III, Robert Day, Jennifer Day, Dawn Day, Charles Joseph Day IV, Stephen Paul Day II, Steve Michael (Robin) Massey, Christopher Charles (Mandy) Massey, Gregory Scott Massey, Brandon Smothers, Samantha Smothers and Stella Day and great-grandmother to many great-grandchildren.
Effie is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all whose life was touched by her.
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday February 19, 2020. A luncheon for family and friends will begin shortly afterwards.
