Bill Piner

January 8, 1941 — October 19, 2020

Bill Piner, age 79 of Plymouth passed away on October 19, 2020. Bill was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 8, 1941 to his parents, Arthur and Jessica (nee´ Dragoniytis)

He is the beloved and devoted husband of Margaret (nee´ Carbery) Piner; Bill and Margaret were married in Detroit on February 8, 1964 at St. Matthew Catholic Church. He is the loving father of Patricia (James) Miller and Catherine (Shaun) Farley and very proud grandfather of Joshua Miller. Bill is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his siblings, Elaine Piner, James (Dolores) Piner, Dorothy (Mike) Aiken and David (Elizabeth) Piner.

Bill retired from his long-time career with the Internal Revenue Service. His position with the IRS allowed him to travel all over the United States. He loved the challenge of adapting to new surroundings. When out-of-town and the work day was done, his job allowed him to taste new foods, meet interesting people and explore new places. Travelling on-the-job gave Bill an opportunity to see, taste and experience things he might not otherwise had the opportunity to do and return home with amazing stories to tell family and friends. When Bill wasn’t working, he enjoyed bike riding. It provided great physical exercise and just made him feel good to be in the outdoors experiencing all that nature has to offer. Above all other things in life, his family says he was a “family man”. Even though he had the wonderful experiences with his job of travel throughout the United States, it was always good to return home to his family. His wife, Margaret and children, Patricia and Catherine were his first priority in life.
