Arnold Frank Nelson

Arnold Nelson, age 73, passed away on November 1, 2011, at home with his family beside him. Arnold was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on July 14, 1938, the son of Vernon and Lucille (Wolfe) Nelson. For the first 26 years of his life, he resided in Minnesota. He joined the United States Army and served from 1961 thru 1963 as a drone mechanic. After his time in the service he joined UPS, first as a driver then working himself up into facilities management. He worked for UPS in Minneapolis, Omaha, NE, and finally in Livonia. Among his varied interests were playing tennis, fishing, swimming, golfing and playing ping pong. He also loved to travel with his wife, Lois. One of his special places to visit was Aruba. After his retirement he loved doing everything with his grandchildren.

Arnold is survived by his wife, Lois, and children, Patricia (Daniel) Corby, Andrew (Julie) Nelson, Rosemary Setser, Edward (Angela) Nelson, Benjamin (Christine) Nelson, Mark Boneff and Matthew Nelson. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Shannon and Devon Corby, Madison, Olivia and Jacob Nelson, John and Joshua Setser, EJ and Erin Nelson, Alyssa, Ashley and Anna Nelson, and Victoria and Nicholas Boneff, and his brothers, Leonard and Michael (Carol) Nelson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at 5pm at Newburg United Methodist Church, 36500 Ann Arbor Trail, Livonia. A dinner will follow the service. Contributions are suggested to the church or Boys and Girls Town, National Headquarters, 200 Flannagan Boulevard, P.O. Box 6000, Boys Town, NE 68010.
