Kathy Alison Borden

Kathy passed away at her home, Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the age of 67 with her family at her side. Kathy was born August 11, 1951 in Detroit, the daughter of Richard and Edna ( nee Boshnakian ) Mazmanian. Her family resided in Detroit during her early life then moved to Livonia where Kathy continued her education graduating from Stevenson High School.

She began her working career with Standard Oil as a secretary. She then moved on to Spartan Foods in Plymouth where she work in human resources. She concluded her career working at Sysco Foods in different capacities. She retired in 2014 from Sysco as a manager in customer services. In June of 2001 she married Paul H. Borden. Kathy enjoyed many interests and hobbies including designing stained glass panels, doing exercises with cardio drums and other artistic pursuits. But above all these part time enjoyments, her sharing with, playing with and walking with her dog, Louie, was a simple and pure joy.

Kathy is survived by her husband Paul, her children Dena ( Jamie ) Shaw and Matthew Aluia, her beloved grandchlldren Christian Shaw, Aiden Shaw and Mia Shaw and her great grandson David. Her sister Diana Dardarian also survives.

A Memorial Gathering will take place on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 12 noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 4 pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth. Contributions are suggested to the charity of your choice.
