James L. "Buzz" Davis    Age 75, of Canton, passed away May 4, 2008. Born May 4, 1933, in Ridgely, Tennessee, and later moved to Canton. Buzz would retire from Ford Motor Company, Rawsonville Plant. He served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and especially playing euchre with his family and friends. Survived by his loving children James Edward, Ronald Martin, and Richard (Diana). Grandfather of Amanda Kay Davis, Raymond Steven Davis, and Emily Anne Davis. Dear brother of Jean (Cecil) Hawley, Peggy Bogy, Bobby Joe (Margaret) Davis, Billy Harold (Donna) Davis, and Alice (Ronald) Blackwood. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Barbara, and by his daughter, Cynthia Kay Davis. Funeral from the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main, Plymouth, Tuesday 1:30pm. PhotobucketMargaret Vizard (Major, Ret.)    age 96, of River Rouge, died May 4, 2008. She joined the United States Army Air Force in 1942, and served during both World War II and the Korean Conflict. She received several decorations while in the service, including the Presidential Unit Citation, the Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal. She is survived by her many loving nieces and nephews, Frank (Betty) Hayden of Canton, Jane (Bob) ANderson of Plymouth, Janet Anschultz of Florida, Dan (Kathy) Hayden of Troy, Frank (Delphine) Vizard of Marlette, MI, Mary Rose (Ron) Levesque of Walled Lake, Mike Vizard of Marlette, David (Barbara) Vizard of Port Austin, MI, and Sharon Grasso of Florida. She is preceded in death by her nephew, Jon Hayden, and her nieces, Marilyn and Kathleen Murray. Funeral from St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 44800 Warren Road, Canton, Wednesday, May 7, 10:30am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 10am. Visitation at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main, Plymouth, Tuesday 4-8pm. Scripture service Tuesday 7pm. PhotobucketWillie A. Stephens    Age 89, of Livonia, passed away at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia, on May 3, 2008. Born in Wingo, Kentucky, and later moved to Livonia in 1962. He served our country in the United States Army during WWII, engaging in several battles on D-Day, and in Northern Europe. Willie would receive a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. After the war, he would marry his beautiful bride, Irene Rohrer, in 1946. Together they were blessed with three children, Mary D.(Robert) Rynicki, Donna Jean (Paul) Allan, and Michael (Deborah). In 1989, Willie would have to say good bye to Irene after 43 wonderful years of marriage. Willie retired in 1982 from Burroughs's Corp. in Plymouth. He would spend his retirement perfecting his gardening skills. He became famous for his vegetable garden, especially known for his tomatoes. A proud life member of the VFW Post 7546 in Dearborn Heights. A loving grandfather of Tina (Jeff) England, Michael (Kim) Rynicki, Mark (Kelly) Rynicki, Wendy (John) Mowery, Kelley (Marc) Wilson, Teri Allan, Katie Allan, Danielle, Andrew, and Adam Stephens. Great grandfather of Andrew, Austin, Ashlin, Ayden, Caleb, Marina, Robert, Michael, Sean, Mallory, Travis, and Austin. Funeral from the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main, Plymouth, Tuesday 11:00am. Visitation Sunday 3-9pm and Monday 1-9pm. VFW service Monday 6:30pm. Eva K. Bittmenn    Passed away May 4, 2008 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Joseph.Loving mother of Joseph(Ida)Bittmenn and Kathryn(William)Sautter. Grandmother of Rev. David J., Mark(Michelle) and Paul(Carrie)Bittmenn, William(Carol) and Scott(Cassandra)Sautter. Great grandmother of Victoria, Ellyn, Zachary, Nicholas, Samantha and Christina. Friends may visit Wednesday, May 7, 2008, 6-9pm at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth. A funeral service will be held at 8pm. Burial will take place Friday in New Jersey.

PhotobucketAnna Merel Smith    Of Plymouth, passed away May 6,2008 at home peacefully surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born December 23, 1927 to Thomas and Floss Nipper in Dunkin County, MO. Preceded in death by her husband, Henry R. and son Christopher. Survived by son Robert (Lynnae)of Lake Orion, Mi and daughters, Teresa Smith of Plymouth, Mary Ginotti of Canton and Sue (Lance) Davis of Marysville, Ten. Also survived by 10 precious grandchildren and 4 very special Great Grandchildren. Ann lived most of her life in Plymouth and was Past President of the Mayflower VFW Post 6695 and Past Trustee of the Plymouth Elks and would be out on her swing acknowledging many as they passed by and marveled her beautiful flowers. Funeral from the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home Friday May 9, 2008, at 10:00am . Family will receive friends Thursday 3-9pm. The family request in lieu of flowers, memorials are made to Angela Hospice. Interment Riverside Cemetery.

Marilyn A. Marshall    Passed away on Friday, May 9, 2008 at the age of 74. Beloved wife of the late Thomas. Dear mother of Maureen ( Dewey Benson ) Marshall, Mary Susan ( Charles ) Lotzar and Madelon Peterson. Grandmother of Kathryn, Joseph, Anna, Mary, Aaron, Jack, Kai, Charlie, Patrick, Kelly, Erik, Kyle and Ryan. Sister of Gordon ( Dorothy ) Birdsey and the late James Birdsey. Memorial visitation Sunday 3 pm - 8 pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth. A memorial mass will be said at the National Shrine of the Little Flower, 12 Mile Road at Woodward, Royal Oak on Monday at 10 am. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am at the church. Contributions suggested to the Parkinson's Foundation.

Mary P. Bresnei    Age 98, passed away on May 5, 2008 at Medilodge of Plymouth. She was born in McKeesport, PA and spent most of her life in the Pittsburg area. She is survived by her son Ross Fichtner. Funeral services were private.
